The Keys to Success for Young Female Athletes

A Program Organized by Emma Scielzo. The transition to high school sports can be challenging.  Expectations are higher, demands on schedules increase, and the stress of balancing academics with athletic goals can be overwhelming.   This workshop is specifically designed for 8th grade female athletes who are planning to pursue sports in high school.

A great athlete encompasses more than just physical ability.  She must learn to balance competing demands and keep a positive mindset.  She must take care of her emotional and mental health, while honing her physical skills.  Perhaps most importantly, she must be a leader in her team, her school, and her community.  This workshop will help each young athlete to develop the skills that will help her nourish her mind, body, and soul.

During this workshop, eighth grade female athletes will have the opportunity to learn from expert panelists on the topics of nutrition, sleep, sports psychology, healthy balance, community service and confidence.  This workshop will bring together eighth graders from all around the DC/MD/VA area.
